About Us
From the Editor's Desk at the
BBT Voice

As the team puts the finishing touches to the
inaugural issue of BBT Voice, I marvel at the spirit of
cooperation that has existed from the very beginning.
The beginning wasn't all that long ago. It started with
a phone call from my good friend Giuseppe Strazzeri,
who has been and remains a driving force behind our
success. “Bradford is growing at an unbelievable
pace,” he said, “and there's no one to represent the
interests of business.” One week later, five of us met
for breakfast at Kostsy's: Giuseppe Strazzeri, Derek
Trochaniak, Wilton Neale, Michael Falcone and
yours truly. It became clear that we had to do
something. In retrospect, thank goodness none of us
realized the magnitude of the journey on which we
were about to embark, or the extent to which we
lacked the knowledge and experience to make it
happen.
As our momentum grew so did excitement within our
community. Word trickled out of our plans and people
came forward to offer services and expertise at our
weekly 7a.m. planning meetings. And so like a quilt
the pieces were stitched together and today we
proudly present the first issue of BBT Voice,
following quickly on the heels of our long awaited
incorporation.
There will, no doubt, be growing pains. We're all still
learning every day. But if the past 10 months is any
indication, I have no doubt that we will successfully
fulfill our mandate as The Voice of Business in
Bradford. This premiere issue is dedicated to our
good friend Giuseppe.
The Bradford Board of Trade
will always be in his debt for his vision, and for
having the courage to pick up the phone and do
something about it.
Your submissions and comments are always
welcome, and I encourage you to keep this issue
handy as the back pages include a business directory
to local services and businesses in our community.
